VEC Squander 2-goal Lead

VEC 3-3 Beechpark

It was looking good for VEC after goals from Neal Breslin (17th minute) and captain Seamus Staunton (19th minute) only for a resilient Beechpark FC side firstly to score from a corner with a deflected header just before half time and then equalising immediately after the break with a deflected free kick looping into the VEC net.
Staunton restored the lead in the 56th minute bagging his second of the game, before striking the post from the penalty spot. With just eight minutes remaining in this Premier Division clash in Terenure, the visitors equalised with yet another deflected free kick, and withstood constant pressure thereafter to gain a point

VEC 2nds Crash out of MMI Cup

VEC 2nds lost 4-0 in the quarter-final of the MMI Cup in Terenure at the hands of a clinical Tallaght Utd side.
Leading by 2 goals, the visitors went on to add some gloss to the scoreline with two further goals in the final ten minutes.

VEC Knocked out of FAI Junior Cup

3 goals from set pieces in the opening 30 minutes put an end to VEC's FAI Junior Cup run in Kilkenny and put Evergreen FC into the quarter-finals. Aidan Hyland chipped the keeper from 18 yards in the 65th minute to provide a glimmer of hope but there was no further scoring. See more photos and short video (link)

It was a deserved victory for the home side but VEC can take pride in a competitive and resilient performance.
Best of luck to Evergreen FC in the quarter finals!
